Shoot in inspiration from Woody Gooch pt2

Image
Inspiration from Woody Gooch- (artist research further down blog) Shoot plan- In this shoot I am planning to work in inspiration from Woody Gooch and his minimalistic compositions. After researching into his work I noticed he uses a lot of negative space and usually positions the focus of the image in the bottom third of the composition. In inspiration to this i am intending to create some very minimal compositions using the rule of the thirds to compose this image using the lower thirds so there is lots of negative space around the subject (similar to Woody's work). Woody Gooch's work really inspires me his compositions emit such emotion and are really effective in capturing surfing in a creative and unique way. I would like to try and do this in my own work as I enjoy trying new techniques to make my work less repetitive. Using the rule of thirds technique will be really effective to compose this image swell as working in woody's style. I would like the outcomes of this s...

Shoot in inspiration from Chris Burkard

Image
Shoot plan-  After searching into Chris Bukards work I decided I would like to conduct a shoot in inspiration from his work. He explores capturing the relationship between humans and nature, he does this though travelling too insane remote locations to shoot landscapes. His images are energetic and inspiriting so decided I would like to incorporate a similar idea into my work by exploring Cornwall's unique landscapes. He focuses more on the landscape and composition compared to the surfing itself so I decided to follow a similar idea so my work can have a wider variety of focuses and compositions. I am intending to employ using a very fast shutter speed to get really good quality, detailed images. I would like to explore Chris Burkard's style of photography into my work- he takes a more editorial approach which focuses on documenting a place for publishing purposes. Therefore I decided I would try and shoot in a similar kind of way focusing on capturing ima...

Chris Burkard artists reasrch- Chris Burkard is a professional landscape photographer who captures inspiring landscapes at the farthest areas of the earth. He explores the relationship between humans and nature whilst also promoting preservation of untamed areas across the globe. He shoots a wide range of subjects such as: surf, adventure, lifestyle and travel. His images are capture nature through a powerful, untamed and wild perspective. His photography takes a photojournalist approach and takes more editorial based images.  I have chosen the images above as they are based on surf landscapes/ seascapes which fits my theme following surf and skate culture, I will be analysing these images. The pictorial space in these images is very deep, he creates depth by capturing the background in high quality and bright lighting to make it stand out against the foreground. Not many shadows are used in his work so therefore there is a lot of bright det...
